Recent Life2Orphan Projects

Occasionally I blog about my involvement with Life2Orphans‘ charity. I volunteer to coordinate and fund raise for my daughter’s orphanage.

I last talked about Life2Orphan’s Christmas project last month. Because of the shipping time (about 8 weeks to get items delivered from the United States to Ukraine), Life2Orphans needs to get their project finished up ASAP.

They are trying to get puzzles, soccer balls, arts and craft, etc… shipped off to children who rarely or never get any presents.

If you have a moment, read the blogs on the Mykolaivka Internat. These are the children that Life2Orphans is trying to touch.

Can you image a teenager whose’s life is so limited that he has never visited a grocery store… that he doesn’t know how to push a shopping cart or use a refrigerator? Living in an orphanage just doesn’t expose children to many basic skills.

If you have any interest in donating $5 or $10 to pay for shipping of the Christmas toys, it would be greatly appreciated. Life2Orphans already has many of the toys purchased. Click here to see how to donate. Please also send an email to Life2Orphans_POM@yahoo.com and let them know you sent a donation. They are trying to raise $750.

But if you would rather donate money for the toys, it is possible. Look at the Wishing On An Angel page.

I last blogged about the Green Forest Orphanage veranda project back in June. I needed to raise about $2,000 to repair a veranda and roof it.

The web page hasn’t been updated yet, but I have all the money. BIG YEAH.

And I recently approached my church. We are going to a project for the month of November. The church’s theme for November is generosity. And November is National Adoption Awareness Month. It works out very well.

The children are going to purchase toys, toothbrushes, etc.. And I will get them shipped to Portland, Oregon. In Portland the boxes are put into a container for shipping across the ocean.

If I collect too much for Natasha’s orphanage, I will send the overflow to another Kharkiv Ukraine orphanage.
